Lynchburg's Oldest Community Theatre

Our Board of Directors

Community Focused

Renaissance Theatre is thrilled to be the longest running community theatre in the area. For over 25 years, we've been bringing live theatre to the Lynchburg area.  Conveniently located downtown, we have parking across the street thanks to our friends at Innovative Wireless Technologies (IWT).  Renaissance Theatre is a 501(C)(3) organization.  Donations are welcomed and tax deductible to the extent allowable by the I.R.S.

Renaissance Theatre’s mission is to create opportunities for community involvement in the arts through live theatrical experiences. With productions from the classics to new works, Renaissance engages the community as both participants and audiences in outstanding artistic shows that inspire, challenge, entertain, and most importantly, contribute to the vitality of the performing arts in Lynchburg.

funding by The Lynchburg Office of Economic Development and Tourism through the Arts & Cultural District Program.

Renaissance Theatre encourages and supports local playwrights to showcase their original works in our play reading series, Renaissance Readings.  For your play to be considered for this series, we encourage you to submit your script for our perusal.  To submit your script electronically,  click here

Renaissance Theatre performs five shows each year that are chosen by the Board of Directors.

We audition for each show approximately 8 weeks before the performances begin.  If you would like to receive information about auditions or have your name added to our email list, click here.

Renaissance Theatre maintains a long standing practice of outreach through our non-monetary contributions to various non-profit and charitable organizations.
